{"id":28,"date":"2009-08-02T12:19:07","date_gmt":"2009-08-02T18:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/casashalom.net\/potters\/?p=28"},"modified":"2012-05-19T13:32:10","modified_gmt":"2012-05-19T19:32:10","slug":"guatemalas-weather","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.pottershome.org\/?p=28","title":{"rendered":"Guatemala&#8217;s Weather"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the comments I regularly get about visiting Guatemala is about how\u00a0<em>hot<\/em>\u00a0it must be because it\u2019s located down in Central America. Well\u2026 believe it or not, but it is\u00a0<em>very cool<\/em>\u00a0there. Most of Guatemala\u2019s cities are located in a very large mountain range, and we live at about 7000 ft. So the high for almost every day of the year is in the lower 70?s, and the low is typically in the 50?s. For this reason, Guatemala has been called \u201cthe land of eternal spring\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Because Guatemala doesn\u2019t have regular seasons like we\u2019re use to, they call the summer months from June through September winter because that\u2019s when the rainy season is. It\u2019s still located in the northern hemisphere like us, but because the daily rain cools the days down, that\u2019s winter.
